As of now, the Courts are all but closed until April 13th, 2020. This, of course, is subject to be extended and the alerts will almost certainly be available on your locals news but you can also check at the AOC’s website which is www.nccourts.gov.

If you have missed or other lost your traffic ticket, your case may have already been rescheduled by the Clerk’s office in the County where you received your ticket. You can check to see if your case has been rescheduled by clicking here and selecting the appropriate County and entering your name. Remember, you must type your last name, a comma, and then your first name (do not use any spaces).

If you cannot find your name you can also call the Clerk of Court in the county where the ticket was received; this will be visible at the top of your traffic ticket.

It may be advisable to consult with an experienced traffic ticket lawyer if you have missed court prior to the pandemic and you are in urgent need of reinstating your license. Some county prosecutor offices are willing to work with you in circumstances where your license will be revoked (or already is revoked) during the viral quarantine.

If you have such a matter in Johnston or Sampson Counties, please give me a call as the District Attorney’s offices here have expressed an interest in avoiding unnecessary license revocations due to the viral quarantine. Unfortunately, Wake County is not currently assisting those with revoked licenses, or those about to be revoked, at this time. This may be subject to change however.
